♥ New Tokidoki + Sanrio

Sanrio and the all mighty tokidoki have collaborated once again bringing some fresh items based on 3 new designs! The new items will launch on December 10th just in time for Christmas. You can view the items from the new collection here.

Sure looks FABULOUS, doesn’t it? It seems Hello Kitty is based on tokidoki’s Donutella character—and I love it! I’ve always thought Hello Kitty meshed well with cute sweets—donuts, cupcakes, lollipops, ect…
♥ Cinnamoroll spotted in Blades Of Glory movie

I’m sure a lot of people have heard of the movie Blades Of Glory starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. If you haven’t, I’ll just say that it’s just another one of those dumb comedy flicks… You’re probably wondering what does it have to do with Sanrio love? Well, after watching the movie around ten times (they play it non-stop on the movie channels) I happened to notice one of our favorite Sanrio characters in it—the ever-so-adorable Cinnamoroll! It’s actually just a Cinnamoroll plush, but I thought it was still cool to see him because he’s not as well known as Hello Kitty and other characters. I actually want the same plush—it’s so big! And what’s the point of plushes if you can’t cuddle with them? I haven’t found any quite like it, but this one is huge and I like the terrycloth textured plushes. Too bad I can’t really afford spending $49 on a plush right now.

♥ New SOTEC Hello Kitty netbook laptop
Posted by Crystal - 22/11/08 at 03:11:15 pm
SOTEC has contributed to the kawaii world with the release of the Hello Kitty Netbook!
From crunchgear.com:
The Hello Kitty C1 features an Atom N270 CPU (1.60 GHZ), 1GB of RAM, a 120GB HDD, a 10.1? TFT display (resolution: 1,024×600), a web cam, a QWERTY keyboard (layout: Japanese/US) and three USB 2.0 ports. Windows XP (SP 3) and a Hello Kitty wallpaper are pre-installed.
Normally the computer is available as a limited edition only in Japan (where it’s already available) but people living outside Nippon can order the C1 from here ($890.95 plus shipping).
How cool that it’s available for purchase in the US! I’d add it to my wish list except I’ve always wanted a regular-sized laptop. Some pink colors would also be nice… This one is still cute though, I love how she’s branded on the case.

♥ My Hello Kitty bathroom; then and now
Posted by Crystal - 18/11/08 at 07:11:20 pm
Last year, when my boyfriend and I moved into our old apartment I had kept on mentioning to him that I wanted to decorate the large second bath with Hello Kitty. One night, when I came home after 2am I walked into that bathroom only to smell fresh wet paint. I flicked on the light switch only to find Hello Kitty everywhere! I was beyond happy and surprised that he would do that for me, I mean come on, how many boyfriends or husbands bust out pink paint and start decorating with Hello Kitties. Here is a picture of the completed project:
Now, while I did love the bathroom very much, there’s always room for criticism. Of course, I didn’t blab all of this to him. While I liked the pink painted walls I just hated the blue stripe, it didn’t really match and made the whole room look juvenile. I guess Hello Kitty is pretty much juvenile but I feel there’s ways incorporating her into more mature designs and looks. An example would be the Hello Kitty bathroom I have in the house we live in now.

I think using the Hello Kitty decorations with plain white walls and modern furnishings gives the room a more mature look and adds a pop of color. The Orchid plant I have on the windowsill also helps creating a more adult feel.
I definitely like the new bathroom better. How about you? If you’re planning on creating a Hello Kitty bathroom or any themed bathroom I highly suggest eBay—it’s a lot cheaper! My boyfriend bought all the decorations together for around $50.
