♥ Late Christmas gift: Hello Kitty alarm clock

My other Christmas gift from my old man finally arrived in the mail the other day—it’s a Hello Kitty alarm clock! Unlike the toaster he bought me, I removed the alarm clock from it’s box immediately. I read a review about it on amazon.com saying it doesn’t catch frequencies very good, well I have to disagree because a lot of stations come in for me. Besides, what can you expect from a little clock radio without an antenna?

The night light feature is my absolute favorite thing about it though—no more tripping over stuff at night on my way to the porcelain thrown!

It’s definitely a great buy for any sanrio fan!

♥ Baking Hello Kitty cookies

Last week or so, I attempted baking some sugar cookies with the Hello Kitty cookie cutters I had purchased on a recent trip to the mall. I didn’t really have a specific recipe picked out, so I just used the one provided on the back of the cookie cutters package. I guess that was a bag idea because I followed the recipe exactly; measured all the ingredients, and the consistency of the dough turned out all wrong! The cutters stuck to it and when I tried to remove the excess dough it would ruin the shape. The boyfriend had a clever idea to just dip the cutters and not peel away the excess dough and bake it that way. You can probably guess how that turned out; a huge flat cookie with the shapes drawn into it. So, a lot of dough was wasted. I ended up adding more wheat flour (wheat was all we had left) to the dough and that fixed the problem. I got some cookies to turn out good but didn’t bother with adding frosting because I didn’t have that many cookies.

♥ Modeling my Hello Kitty lollipop

I love artistic photos featuring Sanrio items. You can basically use any object and turn it into an artistic photo. For some examples take a look at this, this, and this. All great, right? I bought a Hello Kitty lollipop the other day just for photo taking, and today I got some shots. Now, while the photos didn’t turn out to exactly what I had pictured in my head, I’m still quite happy with them. A digital SLR camera would help, but unfortunately I don’t own one…so I have to work with what I got!

I would have liked this one better if my hair wasn’t being weird in the right photo. I got my inspiration from this photo.

♥ Christmas goodies from the boyfriend

Wow, I can’t believe how fast time flies! I haven’t updated in four days but it feels like I did just yesterday! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Mine was just fine and dandy. The boyfriend and I didn’t go all crazy and spend an excessive amount on each other like we did last year, and I think I like it better this way. He did get me some Sanrio goodies though! It’s funny because he said he wouldn’t be getting me any. Ha! Here’s what I got:

I was actually a little confused when I opened this Badtz Maru coin wallet, I remember telling him that one of my friends liked Badtz, but I never said that I liked him. He told me he thought I said it was cute? It’s OK though…I don’t hate Badtz Maru, I just think of him to be aimed more towards boys I guess.

It’s a Hello Kitty mouse pad! Now I just need a Hello Kitty mouse to go with it.

♥ A closer look at the Hello Kitty + MAC collaboration

More photos of the MAC + Hello Kitty collaboration scheduled to release in February have made their way onto the internet! The photos give us a closer glimpse of the color and packaging of the products, so, I knew I’d just have to write a post. While I’m still excited, I’ll admit that I’m a little disappointed with the colors—they’re kind of dull for Hello Kitty. Maybe it’s just the bad photo quality? I’m just trying to stay optimistic here, I don’t by any means hate the colors; the orange and pink lip glosses look nice and the blush as well. I also love how Hello Kitty is engraved into the lipstick! It just stinks that I won’t have a lot of money to spend on the collection. I know I want to get the plush and hopefully a few other things…wish I could get it all. I plan to be at the MAC store on February 12th! You know it’s going to sell out fast.
